CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE

Here at Mynydd Cleaning and Maintenance we take the health and wellbeing of our employees and customers seriously. As such we have implemented a variety of measures to minimise any risk of infection from Coronavirus (Covid-19). As the situation changes, we are closely monitoring guidance from the World Health Organisation, the Centre for Disease Control and the Welsh Government to ensure we remain fully compliant.

Chemicals:

We have replaced our cleaning chemicals, such as polish, with disinfectant capable of destroying Covid-19. Specifically, we are now using SafeZone Plus to sanitise all surfaces and commercial grade bleach to clean floors and toilet areas. These have both been proven in use against Covid-19. Our disinfectant is certified as EN 14476. You can see the information for these products below:

PPE:

Our team have been provided with disposable medical grade masks, gloves and aprons to protect them during the cleaning process. These will be changed regularly and disposed of safely to ensure no cross contamination. At present the use of visors has not been advised for use by cleaners, but we continue to monitor the guidance regarding PPE and will adjust our methods as needed.

Equipment:

Where possible we have advised customers to provide their own equipment which will only be used at their own property. Where this is not possible our equipment is being used following disinfection. All our cleaning equipment is now sanitised before and after use.

Fogging is not something we currently offer; this is based on the WHO’s guidance below:

WHO updated their guidance on 14th May: “In indoor spaces, routine application of disinfectants to environmental surfaces via spraying or fogging (also known as fumigation or misting) is not recommended. Spraying environmental surfaces in both health care and non-healthcare settings (e.g. patient households) with disinfectants will not be effective and may pose harm to individuals.  If disinfectants are to be applied, manual surface cleaning with detergent and water using applied friction (e.g. brushing, scrubbing) must be performed first to ensure physical removal of organic materials, followed by use of a cloth or wipe which is soaked in the disinfectant.”

We may look to provide fogging as an option in the future, should the guidance change.
